Arsenal’s striker Oivier Giroud has voiced out how he almost joined Everton from Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
France international revealed he almost joined Everton after fellow country man Alexander Lacazette was signed from Olympique Lyonnais.
He confirmed he almost left Arsenal in a bid to get more regular games, West Ham, Marseille, and Lyon were mooted as destinations but he reveals he was also close to joining West Ham.
Giroud said toCanal Plus: “I had the opportunity to leave. I was very close to another English club – Everton – but I think I made the best choice.
“I have a lot of respect for Marseille, I was a fan for years. I also have a lot of respect for Lyon, who were also interested at one time.
“I’m happy in England, it’s nothing against those clubs, I didn’t want to return to France. But a return to France is possible one day.”
The striker who went on to surpass 100goals for Arsenal during the Europa league match against BATE, has made 7 appearances for the gunners in the premier league, all from the bench this season.
