GAME OF THRONES season eight will see Arya Stark continue on her torrid journey, but there are new rumours suggesting that she could end up becoming a Lord of a holdfast.
Arya (played by Maisie Williams) is one of the hardest characters to clearly define as hero or villain in Game of Thrones.
Throughout the show’s seven seasons she commits brutal murders, such as the killing of Walder Frey (David Bradley) and his sons.
However, she also always shows an empathetic side to her character and seems to do everything out of love for her family.
She’s trained as a Faceless Man at the House of Black and White in Braavos, which has made her a formidable presence in the show.
There are new rumours from Reddit suggesting that Arya might achieve her dream of one day becoming a Lord of a holdfast.
Several other users on Reddit replicated this sentiment.
“Later in the season, it’s interesting to consider the dialogue where Arya plainly points out (perhaps to her own ironic end), the world doesn’t just let girls choose who they want to be,” explained DutchArya on Reddit.
“I don’t know why people insist that these characters will get endgames they always wanted and expected.
“That doesn’t seem like GRRM’s style of even the way the show is likely to end,” the user finished.
However, Arya’s already proven herself to be incredibly driven, and once she puts her mind to something, she genuinely succeeds.
So, if Arya really does want to become a Lord, or Lady, or a holdfast, then she won’t let anybody stand in her way.
The question is, does she really want a position of authority like that?
She’s spent a lot of time in the show crossing people off her kill list, and she still has a few names left.
However, now that she’s reunited with her sister Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) will her priorities change?
